ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY

<<<< Go Back

Earlier in the year the pandemic lockdown, social distancing and non-essential travel restrictions caused major dislocation to a number major infrastructure projects being undertaken by the museums volunteer workforce. While the museum remains closed to visitors, our volunteers remained hard at work on these much delayed projects prior to the second lockdown.

We hope that our volunteers will be able to complete the outstanding work and also to initiate new projects in time for the return of visitors, which we hope will be at EasterĀ  2021. Work is currently concentrated on re-building part of the demonstration line, improvements to the Sundew Building, brake van restoration, loco maintenance and the ongoing task of museum ground maintenance.
