Russ Hillier – Photographic Event

<<<< Go Back

On Thursday 20th December, the Charity welcomes back Russ Hillier who has organised a ticket only photographic event at the Museum for enthusiasts from all over the country.  It is the first event of its kind at the relaunched Rocks by Rail Museum after a gap of around three years.

The participants will see the operational locomotives recreating scenes from ironstone quarry systems in the 1950’s and 1960’s with the large collection of authentic exhibits. The planned staged run pasts will include quarry scenes, the branch line route to the exchange sidings and will feature the two Barclay steam locomotives working together for the first time in 2012 after their last scheduled outing was hampered by a technical issue.

We extend a warm welcome to the accomplished photographers from around the UK and hope to see their work published in the specialist press in the New Year.

The site is closed for the public on the day but additional tickets are available from the secretary if you are interested.
