Blast Off! – The Museum reopens on an operational basis on 16th September 2012 bringing to a conclusion the largest redevelopment phase of the Museum site since its original acquisition in 1979. We will launch the first passenger services from the new platform and reopen full access to the locomotive exhibits in the loco yard tour. The quarry experience will have diggers in operation and an operational quarry train. We have one or two additional features to mark this special occasion – details available nearer the event!

The Museum will run operational trains on the third Sunday of each month, this will increase as we find our feet again – watch this site for updates on forthcoming special Themed events.

On Saturday 20th October, in conjunction with Russ Hillier, we hold another of our popular photographic gala events. Booking for this event is essential where we hope to run our two Barclay steam locomotives together for the first time.

Driver Experience days are arranged once a month depending on availability and bookings. These courses run year round and include railway driving experience packages as well as ‘drive a digger’ days.

The Museum welcomes private group viewings and we are able to open the Museum for private events, corporate visits or group tours with a range of facilities available by agreement.
